Homeopathy for Babies

I have always worked with lots of parents who want to use a more natural approach for their babies and children. My work involves prescribing homeopathy for babies which is individualised to their own special uniqueness.

I am constantly asked about homeopathy for babies and children, and all the different age ranges, so I’m setting out a general timeline here which might be of help.

1. Homeopathy for Babies Under 3 Months

It is during this time period that babies may start suffering with colic, reflux, constipation, feeding issues (bottle and/or breast), eczema, sleep issues. All these issues can impact Mum and Dad too as they worry about their baby, but also sleep deprivation is starting to kick in. Homeopathic remedies are safe for newborns and I work with young babies all the time.

Mums might be having some breastfeeding or postnatal problems which I also work with. This is something I have a huge interest and lots of experience in – helping Mums feel their very best while they enjoy this special time with their baby.

Homeopathy can be used for acute illnesses such as colds, coughs, earaches, sore throats and much more. Please contact me for more info.

2. Homeopathy for Babies Aged 3 – 12 Months

Now that Baby is a bit older, sleep can still be an issue so if baby is not sleeping through the night, and you’re all exhausted, please contact me.

Eczema can start in this time period. This can happen around the time of weaning baby on to solids, or other event, but can happen earlier or later than that too. Some babies just have it from early on, while others get it when slightly older.

Teething becomes a part of this timeframe too. Some babies cope quite well with teething while others can struggle with pain, excess drooling, bad moods (understandably), disturbed sleep, etc. I put together specific individual remedies for teething babies which are very popular.

Mum may be feeling exhausted, lacking motivation, depressed, struggling to lose weight, or hormones haven’t settled back.

Acute illnesses may be turning into recurring complaints now – typical ailments which recur can be coughs, croup, earaches, conjunctivitis, tonsillitis, constipation. Homeopathy focuses on an individual’s tendency to particular complaints.

3. Homeopathy for Babies over 12 Months

As Baby gets older, more acute and recurring illness can occur. Typical childhood illnesses that we are all familiar with become a possibility.

Some Mums have gone back to work and baby might be more susceptible to picking up bugs and viruses.

Sleep can still be an issue!

Children are learning to walk so bumps and knocks happen. Having homeopathic remedies in the home is a good idea at this stage. A Remedy Kit is invaluable and I run online workshops on using remedies and remedy kits for home prescribers.

4. Homeopathy for Toddlers

Toilet training can be a straightforward and pleasant experience for some children. For others, not so much. Some toddlers are afraid to go without a nappy, embarrassed, holding on and refusing to go.

There are many possible remedies for this.

As children start to get older, bedwetting can become an issue. Please read my blog HERE about a bedwetting case I worked with.

Homeopathy can be used for all ages and as children start to get older it can be a useful tool to have in your healthcare toolbox.
